Cadillac Ponders New Roadster

With an all new Seville STS and the European Catera in its lineup, Cadillac is clearly making some headway with young and affluent buyers. But who would have ever dreamed of a two seater, 380 hp, 300 km/hr Roadster. It seems the Cadillac folks have had their eye on the Corvette C5. With its substantially improved ride and build quality, the new Corvette may serve as the platform for a Cadillac Roadster. This would keep development and tooling costs to a minimum and allow Cadillac to leverage the attributes of a sensational car. A Northstar engine with Variable Valve Timing is one power option being considered but more than likely, the muscle car Caddy will host the Vette’s small block LS1 V8. MTM
