Volkswagen Shows Bugatti EB118

One of the world’s greatest marques, Bugatti, has been recently acquired by Volkswagen. Riding on a wave of tremendous success and the retro trend gripping the market place, Volkswagen is experimenting with making everything that is old new again.. Commissioned by Volkswagen Group Chairman Ferdinand Piech, the new Bugatti EB118 is a styling exercise that reflects its lineage with the Grand Coupes of a bygone era. Power is delivered via a W configured 18 cylinder unit displacing 6.3 litres. Basically it is three banks of 6 cylinders that produces a whopping 555 hp. The project was assigned to Italy’s house of Giugiaro, ItalDesign, with a 3 month time frame provided to finish the car. To complete the task, the team worked around the clock and rumor has it that they even had two hours to spare! MTM
