Acura Announces Prices for 2004 TL Luxury Performance Sedan
The all-new 2004 Acura TL luxury performance sedan featuring updated styling, a more powerful engine and new electronic equipment will be arriving at Canadian dealerships October 16. The TL will have a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starting at $40,800.
The third-generation TL is the "Signature of Acura," combining a luxurious interior and high-tech amenities with athletic performance and dynamic design to create a sophisticated, well-rounded vehicle. The TL will be available in three trims: TL, TL NAVI Package and TL Dynamic Package.
Powered by a 270-horsepower VTEC V6 engine, the TL's powertrain is well suited to its four-wheel double wishbone suspension and large 17-inch wheels and tires. The performance sedan also incorporates a wide array of the latest electronic aids such as Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), a Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist. TL models with the "Dynamic Package" add a 6-speed manual transmission (replacing 5-speed Sequential SportShift automatic), a helical limited-slip differential, high-performance summer tires and a Brembo braking system for superior handling and braking performance.
All trims levels include the first automotive application of a DVD-Audio surround sound system. When a DVD disc is loaded into the Acura/ELS Premium Audio System, TL passengers will be able to enjoy over 500-times the audio resolution of a common CD. The result is a noticeably crisper sound with better utilization of the eight strategically placed speakers.
A satellite-linked Acura Navigation System with English/French Voice Guidance and Recognition is standard equipment in the TL with "NAVI Package." The Navigation system, which includes more than 8.7 million points of interest in the continental United States and parts of Canada, can be controlled through either the touch-screen display or through sophisticated voice recognition technology. The Acura Navigation System has been programmed to accept verbal commands in either English or Canadian-French.
All TL trims come equipped with driver and front passenger airbags, dual side airbags with a front passenger Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) and side curtain airbags. Through the use of front and rear crumple zones and side impact door beams, the 2004 TL is expected to achieve the highest rating in Government crash tests.
