Exclusive Acura EL Enhanced For 2004
TORONTO (October 14, 2003) - The exclusive-to-Canada Acura EL receives amore aggressive look for the 2004 model year. Changes to the sedan aredesigned to enhance its charm and appeal in the sport-luxury compactmarket.
To create a more distinctive appearance, the 2004 EL receives a new frontbumper, grille and smoked headlights. Rear styling changes include a newtrunk panel, rear lights and rear bumper. Now equipped with standard foglights, the 2004 EL creates a more noticeable presence on the road.Backingup the new look are wider, P195/60R15 Bridgestone Potenza performanceall-season tires and new 15-inch wheels for enhanced handling,accelerationand braking.
Both EL models (Touring and Premium) receive a restyled steering wheel andnew orange- or blue-tinted woodgrain trim. For a more refined interior,thecabin has been further isolated from Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH)through a new, double-edge window seal and improved insulation in thedoors. Complementing the quieter ride, two additional speakers (for atotalof six) and a retuned audio system deliver a crisper, fuller sound. EL'sinTouring trim receive the convenience of an automatic climate controlsystem.
The Acura EL sport sedan is powered by a 1.7-litre, 4-cylinder engineusingAcura's VTEC valve control system. The tuned, four-wheel independentsuspension delivers a sporty ride while the four-wheel disc brakes, ABS,Electronic Brake for Distribution (EBD) and four airbags ensure safety andsecurity. The EL is equipped with driver and front passenger front airbagsand driver and front passenger side airbags with passenger seat OccupantPosition Detection System (OPDS).
Utilizing either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, theELtransports its passengers in luxurious comfort through the long list ofstandard features. For 2004, the EL is available in three new colours:Magnesium Metallic, Fiji Blue Pearl and Aspen White Pearl.
The 2004 EL is built in Canada and will be available at Acura dealershipsOctober 16 with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price starting at$22,200.
