ACURA ANNOUNCES CANADIAN-EXCLUSIVE 3.2TL TYPE S A-SPEC

MONTREAL (November 21, 2002) - Le Salon de l'Auto de Montréal was the showcase for the unveiling of Acura's new 3.2TL Type S A-Spec that is scheduled to go on sale in February 2003.

Available exclusively in Canada, the A-Spec adds styling enhancements to the 3.2TL Type S to enhance the car's sporty appeal. Front, side and rear skirts combine with 7-spoke alloy wheels and an A-Spec exclusive rear spoiler equipped with twin red accent lights to create a unique statement in the sport sedan market. Additional subtle touches such as blue or black masked headlights, body-coloured grille trim and door handles and European side turn signal indicators, the A-Spec further differentiates itself from other TL models. Only two colours are available, Nighthawk Black Pearl and Aegean Blue Pearl.

The exterior styling statement is backed up by a 3.2-litre VTEC V6 engine delivering 260 horsepower and a 5-speed Sequential SportShift transmission. Refined sport sedan handling is delivered thanks to a sophisticated four-wheel double wishbone suspension.

Inside, the styling accents continue with A-Spec floor mats, aluminum and perforated blue leather shift knob, chrome "Acura" side sill plates and titanium-style trim. The leather-clad interior highlights the A-Spec style with black and blue combination leather on the steering wheel, perforated seats and door trim.These accents improve upon the TL's numerous interior amenities that include an Acura/Bose Music System with in-dash 6 CD Changer, automatic climate control, front and side airbags for both driver and passenger, and power adjustable driver and passenger seats.
