Canada's Most Popular Passenger Car Re-Skinned For 2004
TORONTO (October 3, 2003) - The Honda Civic, the best-selling passenger car in Canada for the last five consecutive years, has a new look for the 2004 model year. All Civic models (sedan, coupe, hybrid and SiR) have received new front- and rear-end treatments to the headlights, taillights and bumpers. The result is a more sporty, aggressive and distinctive appearance.
The most significant of the changes for the 2004 Civic Sedan include the availability of Honda's race-bred VTEC system previously unavailable. The new Si Sedan trim includes the more powerful 4-cylinder engine, adds larger 15-inch tires and includes amenities such as a power moonroof and carbon-fibre-look trim on the instrument panel and front console.
Both the Civic Coupe and Sedan have been upgraded with new front and rear fascia. With revised headlights, bumpers, grille and hood, the Civic now exudes a more sporty design. Additionally, Honda's designers further differentiated the look of the Coupe from the Sedan and created a more aggressive front-end for the 2-door.
The sporty 3-door SiR is now equipped with new 16-inch wheels and P205/55 R16 tires. The new wheels and tires add considerably to the vehicle's 4-wheel independent suspension, while available 17-inch accessory wheels push the performance and aggressive appearance even further. The SiR also receives new projector-style headlights and new taillights for a more European look.
Honda's Civic model is available to Canadians in a wide range of styles, trims and colours, appealing to a wide range of drivers. The fun-to-drive Coupe and Sedan are Honda's volume sellers. Available with a VTEC-equipped engine and either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions, the both models offer tremendous value to the consumer and include a long list of standard features.
The Civic Sedan Hybrid features Honda's second-generation gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. Achieving a substantial 35-percent fuel economy improvement over a comparable Civic Sedan, the Civic Hybrid is Honda's latest mass-produced solution to preserving the environment.
Finally, the sporty SiR is built specifically for the driving enthusiast and packs a 160-horsepower i-VTEC engine with a 5-speed manual transmission mounted rally-style onto the dashboard. Equipped with well-bolstered bucket seats and European-style tuning to the 4-wheel independent suspension the SiR is Honda's sportiest Civic, all in a functional 3-door body style.
