Excitement Builds as Major Manufacturers Prepare
to Launch New Models at Toronto Motorcycle Show
The 2004 Toronto Motorcycle Show will take place from December 3rd to 5th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Over three days, the event's 125 exhibitors will meet more than 35,000 riders and aspiring riders on a 200,000 square foot exhibit floor. The Show is the only event in Ontario where all the major manufacturers showcase their new 2005 models. Visitors will have an exclusive opportunity to view the newest bikes and accessories direct from the manufacturers including Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Victory, KTM, Vespa and Aprilia. These manufacturers, major retailers and distributors of motorcycles and ATVs will feature every conceivable product and service.
Several major manufacturers have revealed some of their exhibit plans for the Toronto Motorcycle Show. There's excitement at BMW Motorrad Canada with the introduction of the K1200S, the first open sport bike from BMW Motorrad. It's equipped with leading-edge technology including a newly developed Duolever front wheel suspension, a 167 bhp liquid cooled in-line four engine and optional Electronically Adjustable Suspension (ESA). Also on display will be the new R1200GS, the number one selling BMW worldwide.
Victory will launch the Hammer at the Toronto Motorcycle Show. The bike has a 100ci V Twin / six-speed transmission and this model has a 250mm rear tire. Victory is the first manufacturer to develop such a wide tire on a production motorcycle. Another new model to be featured is the Vegas 8 Ball. This is a "blacked out" Vegas, stripped of all its chrome. Also scheduled for launch are the Arlen and Cory Ness Signature Series Vegas and Kingpin. Both are loaded with options that only the Ness Team knows how to deliver.
KTM Canada promises some eye-catching racing models at the Toronto Motorcycle Show including the 450 and 525 Cross Country MXC. These bikes are cross country-oriented with large fuel tanks and no front / rear lights. The innovative 450 and 525 SMRs have been built to race in Supermoto and are sold exclusively in Canada.
Harley-Davidson broadens its Sportster, Dyna Glide and Softail motorcycle lines with the introduction of four new models for 2005 at the Toronto Motorcycle Show. Eleven new color options and improved headlight technology are among product enhancements. Two bold new Softail models bolster Harley-Davidson's leadership position in the execution of factory custom styling. The FLSTN/I Softail Deluxe and FLSTSC/I Springer Classic both incorporate a host of nostalgic styling cues that blend seamlessly with the acclaimed modern performance and comfort of the Harley-Davidson Softail platform. The Dyna Glide family grows to five models with the introduction of the sparkling new FXDC/I Super Glide Custom. The new XL Sportster 883L features a lower seat height and adjusted ergonomics designed to fit a wide range of riders and to make it easier to lift off its sidestand. All 2005 Sportster models have a new swingarm and larger diameter rear axle. A new vented lower fairing allows riders to adjust airflow for flexible comfort on the FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide.
